Kia ora koutou!

Wow - what a wonderful four days. Big thanks to Wai, Halima and Bruce for taking care of us during our stay. This is the second hui our organisation has held at Tapu Te Ranga Marae and both times have been incredible experiences. You provide such a beautiful, safe space for our queer, gay, lesbian, bisexual, takataapui, transgender, intersex, genderqueer rangatahi to be themselves and learn and grow and we really appreciate the way you understand the issues around gender that face the people in our community, and how that relates to staying on a marae.
Thank you - we hope to be back in the not too distant future!

Kia ora koutou
Seven senior staff from Unitec in Auckland stayed at Tapu Te Ranga marae last week. We enjoyed the warm manaaki of Bruce and the hau kainga. We had a very productive planning wanaanga and time at a conference in Wellington, good food and warm sleeping arrangements, all for a fee that is much less than hotels and leaves more money for us to support our students. However, by far the best part of our noho was meeting Bruce Stewart and hearing the story of the marae, its genesis and growth. We thank you for your manaaki, kai and korero and we commend you on your courageous mission, please keep in touch and we will too. Mauri ora. Marcus

Leigh Andrews - Kia Ora Hauora

Kia ora e te whanau o Stewart,

I just wanted to write a big mihi to you all for your generous hospitality when myself, the Midland & Northern co-ordinators of Kia Ora Hauora bought 17rangatahi to Wellington to attend the Te Ora (Maori Doctors) conference last month.

Halima's generousity in accommodating us during a very busy time for you was heart warming, and made life very easy for me as the facilitator - thankyou.

The highlight for the rangatahi was the special moment they we're able to share with Bruce. Hearing his story gave them a whole new perspective on life, something to ponder and question about their own lives. It left them feeling inspired.

Meeting your children and allowing us to share your kitchen and kai time was very humbling and we felt part of the family.

Thankyou so much for your manaakitanga and being able to share your home with us it was a beautiful humbling experience.

Kia ora koutou.

I enjoyed my stay here, in 2008, for the Kapahaka Natioanl Competition held at the TSB arens. Northland College. From Northland. I enjoyed my stay. As far as I remember. The wairua was comfortable. Made me feel welcome, and I felt blessed well I was there. The birds singing. The warmth, and the beautiful Art displayed on the wall. On behalf of Northland College.

This is one of most inspirational and wonderful Marae I have stayed at. The wairua of the Whare was just so warm and welcoming. Bruce and his Whanau were just so awesome.
I'd Recommend this to Anyone and Everyone.
Ataahua hoki te hanga o teenei whare!
