Kia ora Bruce, Halima and whānau. Thank you for a wonderful Playcentre Federation hui at Tapu Te Ranga. Our purpose was forming relationships within a new team and fostering bicultural partnership and Tapu Te Ranga Mara was the perfect environment. Thank you for sharing your place with us - and for the wonderful food!
Ngā mihi nui

Tena koe Whaea Te Ripowai- Having Tuhoe stay at our Marae on this historic occasion has been a great honor for our Marae. As you all were being called on for the powhiri- and when those Kaumatua filed quietly in- I was fully aware that they represented ‘the many’ that have persevered peacefully for 150 years- for this moment of redress- for grave crimes against The Tuhoe Nation.

Tena korua ko Halima me to korua whanau, Bruce,

E kore e mimiti nga mihi ki a koutou mo te manaaki; mo te whakaaro rangatira me te aroha ki to matou iwi ki a Tuhoe.

We will always be indebted to you for making this momentous and historical occassion for our people of Te Rohe Potae o Tuhoe a memorable one. Our people from Ruatahuna and Ruatoki were just overwhelmed by the warmth and generosity of your manaakitanga. Many were amazed at the construction of your marae, they just raved about it. Our mokopuna thought it was the most fun and special marae they have ever seen. You may just have started the next generaton of Tuhoe 'thinking outside of the box" of what is possible when one just use their imagination and the freedom of mind to push the boundries! We will certainly need those sorts of minds as we build a positive and hopeful future for our mokopuna still to be born.
Again we are grateful for your patience, kindness and expressions of aroha in opening your kainga to us and now you have joined us as part of our history and for which many of our very young mokopuna were able to share and witness and will retell after we are long gone.

Heoi e te rangatira me to whanau, e kore e mimiti nga mihi, e kore e wareware ta koutou manaaki i te iwi iti nei a Hinepukohurangi raua ko te Maunga, a Tuhoe Potiki.

Our Abundance Project

Bruce, Halima, Wai, Hirini, Pare and Ian and the rest of the whanau.

Thank you so much for holding such a loving space to host Our Abundance Project's Harvest Festival.
What an energizing, abundant, heart-felt, delicious, skill-sharing and inspiring group of people and what a great community-building event!
Your openness to our group was deeply felt and appreciated.
We resonate with the kaupapa of the Marae and felt a sense of belonging within it.
We deeply appreciated experiencing the powhiri, the waiata, being part of the hangi, and being invited into the open heart of the marae.
Thank you for your trust and for all the work that happens behind the scenes to make the marae the special space it is.

Many Blessings and Abundance,
Our Abundance Project

what an encouraging side of humanity! I'm an architecture student at Victoria university who's designing a potential social housing scheme for your marae, as an assignment. Your story was particularly powerful to me. I greatly look forward to the designs that will develop from your journey
